Supporting Our Local Community
As a company CAPES Engineering Ltd. recognizes that it is important to give back to the community that supports our business. We have directed corporate profits towards groups and causes that are important to our staff including:
$3000 Donation to the Belle Ewart Legion reconstruction fund in 2019. The Legion was raising funds to rebuild their aging building which provides invaluable support to veterans and their families.
Sponsor for the Owen Sound Festival of Lights in 2019. We sponsored a portion of the program to make this event which brings some happiness and joy to the region during the long winter months.
Sponsor for the Collingwood Minor Baseball League (2020/2021)
Donation to Breaking Down Barriers Rockin’ the House Bonspiel (2020)
Sponsor for Owen Sound Music at the Market (2020)
$1200 Donation to OShare in Owen Sound, which partnered with local restaurants to feed vulnerable families during the pandemic. (2021)
In 2021 we have adopted an initiative to allow each employee to identify a charitable group or cause that they would like to contribute towards, and CAPES Engineering will make a donation in that employee’s name. We felt this was a way that we could give back to the causes and initiatives that were most important to our staff, recognizing the differing geographic locations and needs of different communities.
